The authenticity of a system of spirituality or meditation is determined by the authenticity of the person who instituted it and after that person is gone, it depends on the authenticity of one who can teach it and then on one who is qualified to learn it.
Keep in mind that self-knowledge is in one's personality already but the trick is the inner pathway which is full of twists and turns due to the nature of the personality distorted by ignorance, desires and unrighteousness. one who has discovered the pathway through all that and who can teach it is authentic regardless of the technique because they have traversed the pathway and have seen that the technique can work. One who is based in truth and grounded in reality and ethical can be reasonable.

Indeed the "Mystery System" has survived to the present even though most people practice some form of the modern day world religions. Yet the Ancient Egyptian Shetaut neter (Mystery System) was at one point THE world religion. nevertheless, in order to discover it an aspirant must develop sufficient sensitivity and purity to recognize what the mysteries are, the mysteries of life, self and the universe. then he/she may be ready to discover an authentic teacher, a sage who can teach its wisdom and disciplines. If you have not heard of its existence up to now it is because you were not ready to know about it.

The subconscious level of mind is the level just below the conscious. It is the level where thoughts emerge in the mind and where certain perceptions and operations of mind occur without a person knowing until they enter into the conscious level. For example, a person may perceive another and become angry without knowing why; because the subconscious thought process perceived the person and negative feelings and thoughts developed. But where did those negative feelings and thoughts come from? They came from he unconscious level of mind, a deeper level where seeds of feeling are lodged from previous experiences; we call them ariu or residues of action; the Indians call this karmas. In order to progress spiritually one must cleanse the unconscious because this colors the subconscious and conscious levels of mind. This coloring is an illusory process whereby a person cannot see the world as it is and so they live under the control of their own illusions about life which are based on ignorance, absence of the knowledge of self. A person controlled by the subconscious and unconscious will not be able to grow and will not be able to understand the spiritual teaching and will not be able to control their mind, its feelings and beliefs and consequently cannot control their personality but will be controlled by it, its moods, desires, etc.; to control this is self-mastery and great things in life can only occur when there is self-mastery. The path to self-mastery is becoming a qualified aspirant, listening to the mystery teaching from a qualified teacher, studying and reflecting and practicing it, practicing meditation that allows one to experience and cleanse the unconscious.

Religious concepts and cults of Ancient Nubia, of the kingdoms of Cush. Very little is known about the original religion, and most of the information is from religious practices that have been strongly influenced by Ancient Egyptian religion. Often, Nubian religion is dealt with as only local variations of Ancient Egyptian religion. Nubian religion was independent from Egyptian until 1450 BCE when the distinctive mountain of Gebel Barkal, was defined as the abode of Amon, and a great temple was built to him here. It seems that some 14 temples more were built around this mountain. Gebel Barkal became the focal point of Nubian religion, being said to be the birth place of every god, and the point, even, from where the world was created. Nubian religion had its own deities (see list of Ancient Nubian gods), but many gods and concepts would be imported from Egyptian religion. Nubian gods were also introduced to Egypt. Sekhmet may have been introduced from Nubia, Onuris was at least linked with Nubia and Mandulis became a god of Upper Egypt. With the lion-god, Apedemak, some unique religious dimensions are found, although these mainly come clear in the oases of the Western Desert. Here high priest were understood as able to control weather, invoking punishment on evildoers through the god and concept of Maahes. It appears likely that the Nubians shared the same ideas. Temples were built all along the Nile in Nubia, but there is a noteworthy shift in structure and aesthetics with the arrival of the Egyptians in the middle of the 2nd millennium BCE. The older deffufas of Kerma are distinct and independent, but disappeared completely with the introduction of Egyptian-style temples. Every town of Cush had its own temples, and the king was compelled to visit each of them once a year. In the 8th century, pyramids were introduced. Concerning popular religion, which a society with a strong elite like Nubia with certainty had, there is next to no information available. There is very little information on religious practice in Nubia from the 4th century CE until the arrival of Christianity in the middle of the 6th century. Most likely, Nubian religion was replaced by the religions of invading peoples during these centuries.
