"Be Prepared" Jamelody To Drop Debut CD Source: islandevents.com
Local reggae artiste Jamelody will be releasing his debut album Be Prepared on April 29 via VP Records.
The 15- track set features production work from the likes of Bobby “Digital” Dixon, and Carl James and sees hardcore foundation-style reggae tracks, produced by legendary mixing board master Dixon mixing with the “New Roots” rock/pop/R&B hybrids, orchestrated by James.
The album features such tracks as “Give Thanks” along with Be Prepared’s title track, a roots-rocking hit-in-the-making. Other classic reggae tunes like “Ithiopia” and “Pressure.”
On the New Roots tip, there are tunes like “All that I Pray For” the rock-infused “Since You’ve Been Away” the uptempo "Joy" and an original traditional gospel penned by Donald Lawrence, “When the Saints Go to Worship.” “Wanna be There,” written by Jamelody, is a straight-no chaser R&B cut that bears a quintessentially Jamelody reminder that each of us has our God-given place in life. The CD also features a cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Living in the Sky” as well as a remake of Boys II Men’s “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye.”
Jamelody first came to the fore locally in 2004 with the album's title track "Be Prepared."
